DENTAL IMPLANTS, CROWNS, ROOT CANALS AND GUM DISEASE

Sometimes, no matter how well you take care of your teeth, life happens. Perhaps you lost some teeth or some of your adult teeth never grew in. Perhaps you chipped a tooth. Maybe you got a cavity, or your gums are having issues. Whatever the case, our dental office has the expertise and experience to help get your teeth healthy again.

Dental Implants

When you’re missing some teeth, or when they never grew in the first place, you might want to get dental implants. Implants are inserted into your jaw bone. When the implant fuses with the jaw bone, then a crown (or fake tooth) is attached to the implant. Maintenance for implants is the same as regular dental care for your teeth.

Crowns

A crown is used to cap the entire surface of a tooth. It is used to repair shape, size or strength of a tooth. Instances where you might need a crown involved chipped, broken or missing teeth.

Root Canals

When the pulp inside a tooth is infected, a root canal procedure is performed. During a root canal, the pulp is removed. Then the inside of the tooth is cleaned, filled, and sealed. This gets rid of the infection and prevents any complications from infected or inflamed pulp.

Gum Disease
Gum disease is usually caused by poor oral hygiene. The gums become inflamed and bleed easily. If gum health further deteriorates, then gum loss and tooth loss could be a complication. Treatment involves procedures such deep cleaning, scaling and root planing.

If you suspect you have any of these problems or the dentist at our office has diagnosed you with one of these issues, we’ll explain the procedures in more detail. For more information, contact us by giving us a call (503-305-6269) or come to our office.
